Name: Cassandra Scott
Birthday: May 19th 1987
Seasons Competing: This will be my first year! Woo!
Cable or Boat or Both? Ha, I am a huge cable rat and love hitting different obstacles. But I just recently started riding boat and it’s definitely a bit different then the whole skate, swim, and walk triathlon. Hanging out and being motivated by a boat full of friends and tunes is always a good time!
Sponsor shout out: Any takers?
Hometown: North Palm Beach, FL
Current residence: Conway Shred Headquarters.
Places you have traveled to for wakeskating? I haven’t really done much yet, but this year I hope to travel as much as I can. Last minute random adventures are the best!
Board set up: maven and DC’s…I love DC!!!
What is your favourite thing about wakeskating? Not being able to catch edges. HA just kidding, kind of… Honestly, it’s the vibe of being around other wakeskaters. Everyone is so supportive of each other and encouraging each other to land new tricks. The best part is the pure fun of progression, and not taking it as a serious competitive sport.
Where is your absolute favourite place to ride? I absolutely love riding on Danny Thollander’s lake, Lake Mills. He’s got an awesome set up of rails and an ollie on box. It’s always a good time with a good crew out there. The cable in Tampa, McCormicks, is super fun too. It’s a really chill atmosphere, fun obstacles, and clockwise!
Favourite Animal: My kids Lucy and Rufus, of course. But I would definitely say I have the biggest soft spot for ducklings.
Favourite Trick: Keep on flippy spinning big spinnerer.
Favourite Music: I’m pretty easy when it comes to music. Anything but country.
What are your goals for 2009 riding season? I would like to get a lot more comfortable behind the boat and doing wake to wake tricks. I just want to push myself to progress as much as I can and still have fun.
What are some of your thoughts on female wakeskating at the pro level? This industry is still small but growing, so I would love to see more girls out on the water and even competing. I’ve seen some girls out there are ripping it. I can’t wait for tricks to go bigger and for girls to get more recognition in the wakeskate community.
What are your future plans with wakeskating? To follow the fun!
What is the steeziest trick you have ever seen? Oh man, there are so many guys out there that are doing crazy new tricks or just going ludicrously huge. Double ups on a wakeskate? The progression of wake to wake tricks just blow me away.
Craziest thing you have ever done? I would have to say, feeding monkeys at a Monkey Temple in Bali. Definitely was quite the experience. Best place I have ever been, hands down.
Props to anyone? Conway punks. I couldn’t ask to live with a better group of girls. I do have to give huge props to Jen Gilanfarr. She’s the one who got me started wakeskating a year ago when I moved in with her. She has such a positive attitude, pushes me to try new things, and how could you not be motivated after watching her ride? Overall I would have to say my friends and family, I would not be here with out them.
